The Shed

This image came from a recent shoot on my current project 'Archaeology of Fear' it isn't quite in-keeping with the feel of the rest of the project. It was decided that this image boarded more on the picturesque rather than the sublime and may be the focus of other future projects. The location I believe is an old changing rooms as you can see the dividing wall in the middle of what appears to be a derelict shed. The original image was shot on a Hasselblad leaf back but was edited rather heavily to appear as night. This was to act as a test to counteract issues arising with negatives when shot at night as you cannot see the spacing between each image on the negative. The process worked rather well and will feature partly in the ongoing project.

Wall Street

Decided on having a little fun after seeing the Wall street poster image in an article. Unsure who actually took the image but I rather liked it. It was a good shoot to get back into the swing of things after the summer, something a little more formal to the months prior.

I've been to Nam

I went away with my dear friend and housemate Spooner (we don't call him by his first name, with a second name like that...need I say more) for the summer well at least 6 weeks of it although with planning it, sorting my life and the aftermath it felt like a lot longer. All in a good way of course.
The 3 images I'm putting up here are from the longest trip of my life a 30 hour bus journey, with a few more attached to it totaling some where up in the region of the that many hours. Being 6.2 and of stocky build on a bus that had no air conditioning and with seats designed for midgets, the poor Asian guy sat next to me was rather pushed for space after I sat by the window. However his choice to play Celine Dion from his phone did lighten the mood after the first 24hrs in comparison to me watching Platoon on my Ipod which I felt was fitting to the whole situation. The trip was from Vang Vieng, Laos to Hanoi, Vietnam via Vientiane, Laos. (in other words the long way round as the other road was unusable) On approaching Hanoi in the last few hours of our journey I felt the urge to take my camera out, this being a small selection of a few shots I took, enjoy..

Hong Kong

I haven't been away in a while and have been planning another trip which got me thinking of my last. I never put the pics up anywhere properly and as they've been on my mind thought I might put some up here too, along with a little persuasion from little miss Grimwood. I visited Hong Kong in the run up to the Beijing Olympics, if you look closely in this first image you can see the five rings lit up in white on the right side of the white building along with some other Chinese propaganda in red.
